Which one is your favorite?

I want to get out of MyBB stuff. I like the portal page (which I really need) I'm learning toward a Wordpress-forum bridge type. MyBB doesn't really have a lot of unique themes and plugins. I'm considering going toward WordPress 2.1 and have the comments & posts linked to a forum, but before I even begin on that... pick your favorite.

I like SMF personally. And with their API/SSI.php file you can create your own "portal" or use TinyPortal. I've used phpBB, but it's just not of the same caliber as SMF is. So obviously my vote is SMF 🙂

We've been discussing this elsewhere...great examples...but, the one you will be looking at might be the best forum software to date...it even notifies you via ajax if the thread you are looking at has been updated...

I know the PHP|architect site uses Fud Forums. I think it was developed by Ilia Alshanetsky, a PHP Guru among gurus. He is, if I am not mistaken, the PHP release manager.

I haven't delved into the code, but I would imagine, based on who had written it, that it is one of the better ones out there.
