Server Timeout

Good day,

I have a PHP program in a server. When I try to generate a report using few queries for a few days, I can successfully have the results. Unfortunately, when I tried generating report for a whole month, I always had an error like this:

Explanation: The request timed out before the page could be retrieved.

Try the following:
Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. This may have been a one-time error.
If you are still not able to view the requested page, try contacting your administrator or Helpdesk.

Technical Information (for support personnel)
Error Code 1460: Timeout
Background: The gateway could not receive a timely response from the website you are trying to access, a DNS server, or another gateway server. This might indicate that the network is congested or that the website is experiencing technical difficulties.

I also tried changing the CGI configurations from 300 to 4600 seconds but I still have the same problem.
I'm using IIS 5.0 in a windows 2000 server...

I'm not sure if it will work but you can try:
- [man]set_time_limit[/man] set time limit to 0 for a php script - this means no time limit. This will going to help if the problem is with php exceeding maximum execution time (which by default is 30 s if I remember well). It doesn't look like it from the error message.
- [man]flush()[/man] your echo output every now and then which keep sending some information from server to browser, possibly working as "keep alive" - I'm not sure of that, but that's what I'd try.

Thank you very much Sir. However, I found out that it was a CGI error. I tried to set the max timeout of the CGI at the IIS until 4 hours.

My question now is...what is the maximum seconds that I can set for the CGI so that my program will still run even it exceeds running for 4 hours?

Or can I just leave it blank?

I found out that the maximum timeout that we can set to the CGI is 2.1 million seconds (&H80000000) .

can I put the value in the CGI as &H80000000 or as 2100000?
