[RESOLVED] Float printing as 1.8E+002

Hi guys!

im trying to get a result from my db to display as a float;

i have tried round() with no success

the price is stored in my database as 181.00 however whenever i try to print this, with or without the round function it prints as 1.8E+002

help??

Hi,

I am not sure WHY it displays it in scientific format. Have a look at number format functions, and see if they help:

I see you are using a price field. I think decimal type for the price field would be better choice if you all you want is something like 12.32. The float type doesn't work like that.

DECIMAL(5,2) - I beleive that would give you 5 characters with 2 decimal places... You may want to double check that! 🙂

but i always float was decimal?
my sql is defined as float(4,2) (i think)
when i access a version of it in work in the end user environment it works fine, however when i try it at home on this machine it displays it as that, yet both versions are the same?
