I was hoping to progress to a junior member, but I am having such difficulty with cookies - I need to ask for some simple help..... My site has an index page that everyone goes to. If you are a member, you can set a preference to go to a different page (I will call it Info ) other than the login. When you have set the preference, the info page reads and sets a cookie to indicate your last visit so we can tell the member what has changed since his last visit.
I have no issue with setting a cookie that is interrogated upon arrival to the index page and the user is redirected based on the cookie. I have trouble on the info page. This page has an iframe used for the initial display which gets the value of the last visit cookie. When the user leaves, I am trying to set the last visit cookie to the current date, but I get the "cannot modify headers info alread sent" error message. Read a little info and realized no html can be can be written before the cookie functions. Changed that. So I tried the isset function and displayed when found and the typical 'first visit' message if not. \
I do not know where to set the new value. Appreciate any help or suggestions to tutorials explaining.
