I've used it before, but not a huge fan (back when I used it it didn't have features such as ftp access which was something I really needed).
Just having a look through the list of plugins I've come across on the jedit website and it doesn't seem to have any autocompletion. Something that might help you though is the PHPParser plugin which checks the syntax for you. Doesn't say what version it checks though.
