[RESOLVED] JS split issue

'ello all.

I am trying to get everything before the filename and previous slash.

I was using this code:

var URL = window.location.href.split('/view.php');

But have since outgrown it.

I am trying to just match anything, but can't seem to get a match.

i.e. #/.*.php#

Please help. :o

Something like this should do it:

<script type="text/javascript">
var URL = window.location.href.match('(.*)/.*\.php');

if(URL[1]) {
    // use URL[1] to get the data you want
} else {
    // what happens if you can't find "/(something).php" ?
}
</script>

Nothing ... it won't be used on any indexs.

Why did you use match instead of split?

Well... you couldn't get split to work, and I knew how match worked, and since my knowledge of JS is quite limited... I went with what I knew. :p
