Flat file link counter (PHP)

Hi Guys!
For a small site I would like to add a simple flat text file based counter
of the # of times a link has been clicked.
I found some php scripts on the net, but they all count per grand total,
and not with a daily statistic. :rolleyes:
Would you know where I can find a simple php script that counts the
clicks and write it down in a simple txt file with the option to view daily
and grand total # of clicks?

If you just want the total clicks a flat file is good. But since you want more information it would probably be easier to use a database where you store the datetime a link is clicked. It is easy to implement and you can get all kind of statistic.
