parsing user and pass across domains

i am trying to pass username and password across domains.

i have one section where the user logs in to password protected area

from there i have about 10 sites on subdomains.

i want to be able if they already logged in to the main area, they will be able to access the sites on the sub domains, without another popup, to carry over the date to each accesable site.

any ideas?

if all of the subdomains are on the same physical server then you can simply start a [man]session[/man] and propagate the session id across the domains. if the domains are on different servers then start a session on one and then stick it in a database temp table and then pull it back out on the other server.
