[RESOLVED] Help! Multiple system Calls!

Hi there,

I have program.cgi which has the following system call - system("c:\program1.exe");
that takes about 30 seconds to complete.

I want to hit program.cgi up to 5 times simultaneously and have 5 program1.exe's running at once, but instead when i hit program.cgi 5 times only 1 program1.exe runs at a time, and the next ones won't start until one of them dies.

This is using PHP in windows btw.

Well, in Windows, I'm not sure what to suggest.

In Unix, what you'd do is fork the process into the background so that the PHP process isn't waiting for the program to finish (you'd do this by adding an '&' onto the end of the call, e.g. '/path/to/myprog &').

EDIT: Maybe you need a program like "bgrun.exe" ? (link)
