with the attached PHP info?

Yes, PHP has been compiled with GD ... version 2.0.28

I think I figured it out.

There is no table row for JPG support ...

Am I right?

If you have a 'gd' table in phpinfo(), but you don't see "JPG Support enabled" in that table, then no, you can't handle JPEG files.

If you visit the manual page for [man]gd[/man], you'll find links to a jpeg-6b library and information on recompiling PHP with the "--witih-jpeg-dir=DIR" option.
