[RESOLVED] Multiple languages on cms site

Hi,

I have a custom built CMS that I have been using for the past 5 years. Its done me really well, and have lots of fine-tuned features which make it very easy to update for clients.

A new client wants to have multiple languages (Spanish, German, English, French etc) on their website... does anyone have some advice on:

what encoding to use? I believe UTF-8 is the way to go...
what encoding do I need to use for MySQL?
will saving text into my normal CMS textfeilds etc save all characters in the databse (I guess this depends on 1 & 2)?

I would go for UTF-8 encoding, on

Database
Pages
specify this also in the form-elements; to be sure (I believe the comment is: accept="UTF-8")

I'm in the far north coast NSW, near Byron Bay. Going to Melbourne for a holiday in 2 weeks actually... I don't envy you in the UK! Living there?

living, working .. Yeah. Still got a post at RMIT melbourne though, 25%, be back there for a few months later this year (oct,nov,dec).

Ah well.. Live in rip-off UK for a few years, make a bit of a name in research, and head back for a prof. position in Melbourne or Brizzie, I suppose!
