how to remove special char § ?

Hi,
How do i remove this special char § and ^L from .TXT file? I got this text file when i converted PDF file using "pdftotext" command on linux.

Search - replace maybe in the .txt file maybe? But why do you ask here, these forums is for PHP.

Thanks for the reply. I am asking it in PHP forum because i have written a PHP code which reads TEXT file and uploads it into MYSQL database. I think The special character is messing up the FULLTEXT indexing, the score is not working. I have created a search engine using PHP, i need Mysql SCORE (using select statement) to work. I have tried different methods to upload data in text file into MYSQL DB and every time score is not working.

I am not crazy to ask expert help if it was one text file. I have got close to hundred text files and more is on the way.

Ok, then I understand it better. I think it is possible to use [man]preg_replace[/man] in some way, but I can't help you with that since I don't know exactly how to use it.

$search = array('/\cL/', '/§/');
$text = preg_repalce($search, '', $text);
