Question: XOAD (or any other) & Zend Framework

Hey

Has anyone used XOAD Ajax framework with Zend Framework?

I'm curious to know, because people say ZF doesn't carry a native Ajax library (got JSON of course!). I'm trying to modify one of my previous application to use ZF while keeping my Ajax functionality powered by XOAD (maybe ZF with another Ajax framework?).

What is XOAD like to use? I just started with Ajax and use prototype myself which I find excellent. It does not have any server-side components though - which would make integration into ZF easy as you have to write that part yourself anyway.

Come to that, how are you getting on with ZF? I'm considering it and was searching for anyone's experiences, tips, criticisms of it.

Thanks for the reply. Well first of all XOAD is an AJAX framewrok which is capable of mapping serverside PHP class/functions with AJAX (has build in support for JSON) technology. It was a very good framewrok for me because it was very easy for me to use. 🙂

Anyway, for a very long time XOAD website is down and I believe now XOAD is discontinued or something. 😕 I don't use XOAD any more, willing to move on to Prototype!

ZF is seems to be a good MVC framework. But I don't even using it that much because it's still a preview release (not beta). So anything can change anytime. Maybe I'll try using it when the stable version release.

For a long time I did a good research for my self about MVC frameworks and found my self that SYMFONY is a very good MVC framework (I don't criticize any framework here - this is truly a personal choice). Very easy to use. It has build in support for Prototype and other AJAX technologies. I'm gonna go with this framework. 😃
