Now I been thru many many posts, and really didnt find anything good for sms messeging.

I do have a question.
The below code sends the hosting email address instead of from site address.
Which is telling me its a header issue.
Can any help, and also does anyone have current carriers list that are used in format of [e-mail] which is Virgin Mobiles

$subject = 'the subject';
$message = 'hello';
$headers = 'From: [e-mail]' . "\r\n" .
'Reply-To: [e-mail]' . "\r\n" .
'X-Mailer: PHP/' . phpversion();

mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);

Or does anyone have a SMS php script

Check out www.triangle-solutions.com I know they have an SMS script. not sure if it's pay-for-use, or not, but I used to work with them on their PHP Support Tickets program, so I can say they make pretty good stuff.

I went there and just about all sms stuff is a paid service programs.

I just want to know how to stop the from message part from saying the server host email, i want it to show from whom ever I want it to show it is from.

the FROM header is it. You may try looking at the RFC's for email headers, I think (though I'm not 100% sure) that the word FROM has to be in all caps....

I tried the caps for FROM and that didnt work, I think it is the header part too, but cant figure it out.
sms header is different I think.
That is why someone must know.
The above code does work, it does send to cell phone. but the FROM like I said keeps comming from server email. And I want it to come from whom ever I want it to come from.

Cant believe no one can figure this out, sms has been talked about in forums for ever, and many people have had this issue, but not one person figured this out.

So if anyone has please post in here what is wrong.

Wish I could help you out more. I don't dabble in SMS all that much, just thought it'd be an easy fix or Triangle-solutions.com would be able to help.

I just tried to send from outlook to cell number and yes got the cell message, and yes it said it came from my normal email address..

is this on your personal server or is it hosted?

if you are hosting it:

if windows, do you have the smtp server settings setup in php.ini?

if linux, is sendmail setup properly?

Perhaps the title of this thread should be changed to "SMS" instead of "CMS", in order to avoid confusion on future forum searches?
