Using PHP to Pull RSS and then Stream On Page

Hey all,
I'm fairly new to the whole RSS craze. On my site I'm trying to figure out how I would go about using PHP to pull RSS feeds from 2 websites and then stream them on my main page. I found a small program that seems to work on the demo but when I try to implement it I get stuck at "Initializing Ticker". I'm not using the second box on the demo, just the top thin one. If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it.

with php you won't be able to achieve this "ticking" behaviour. You can get rss while loading the page and echo it to the browser. After that you can't change it with php (that's why the example you provided uses ajax and javascript).
Rss is given as special type of xml document. So you probably want to read about [man]xml[/man] in php manual (a couple of examples in the comments). You can also try some scripts written by other (like Magpie RSS).
