Collation

In phpmyadmin
IT seems that the Collation is set at : latin1_swedish_ci

How in the heck do I change that...

I never used to see any Collation before updaing to latest cpanel which most likely updated other things as well.

Now want to get rid of this Collation

I have looked everywhere on how to change this. So please any help would be great.

latin1_swedish_ci is the default.

lets say I edit the my.cnf file

default-character-set=utf8

[mysqld]
default-character-set=utf8

Is there a way to change collation for all databaes and tables at one time, so I do not have to go thru all clients databases and do this manually.

I think that any databases and or tables which have explicit character set and/or collation assignments would have to be explicitly changed via ALTER DATABASE or ALTER TABLE. But if anyone knows differently, I'd be interested to know, too. However, I would think you could pretty easily come up with a PHP script to loop through all the tables in a database (using "SHOW TABLES FROM database_name") and change them via the ALTER TABLE sql command.

Well no one actually had colations set at all, so changing any database or tables to no colation is not going to be a problem.
