Are there any concerns for PHP? (Same question for MySQL)

In case you haven't heard, there are new daylight savings dates this year. Is PHP ready? I'm using 5+ but this question applies to all versions. I haven't been able to find any reference on php.net about this.

I'm guessing that if the underlying operating system is properly patched, then the php date/time functions should work appropriately. But I need to be sure.

They haven't cited any sources in that. I take everything Wikipedia says (especially without any sources cited) with a grain of salt.

But doesn't PHP just grab it from the server itself (apache). So apache would have to have this change on their server.

There is a new PECL TimezoneDB, but I can't locate any documentation that tells whether it deals with these changes or not.

The operating system time affects the value that the MySQL server uses for times if its time zone is set to [FONT="Fixedsys"]SYSTEM[/FONT]. Make sure that your operating system is using the latest time zone information. For most operating systems, the latest update or service pack prepares your system for the time changes. Check the Web site for your operating system vendor for an update that addresses the time changes. If your system draws its time from a public clock on the internet, it should adjust the time automatically.

If you use named time zones with MySQL, make sure that the time zone tables in the [FONT="Fixedsys"]mysql[/FONT] database are up to date. If your system has its own zoneinfo database, you should reload the MySQL time zone tables whenever the zoneinfo database is updated, using the instructions given earlier in this section. For systems that do not have their own zoneinfo database, check the MySQL Developer Zone for updates. When a new update is available, download it and use it to replace your current time zone tables.
