[RESOLVED] MD5 Question how large of a string can

Hello, thanks for reading my question.

I've looked every and I can't seem to find an answer to this.

I'm wondering how many Chars can MD5 take before it starts to repeats or break...lol

such as

md5("My super long string for 3200 chars");

md5("How about a whole page of information such as 1000 actual text words not digital words");

I'm just wondering what the disadvantage of have a huge text string in an MD5?

Put it this way... you'll run out of memory before reaching a 'limit' if there is such a thing. MD5 is usually used to hash entire files of php. So don't worry about it 🙂
