another mod_rewrite question

Due to a change in systems I'm looking to redirect all URLs from /page/number to /content/view/number/1

At the moment I have this:

ReWriteRule ^/page/([^/]+)$ /content/view/$1/1 [L] 

but thats not working.

Anyone a bit of a mod_rewrite wiz-kid?

Not me, unfortunately, but I like regular expressions and have used them in rewrite rules from time to time (though only moderately complex ones).

The pattern looks fine to me if placed in a configuration file, for use in .htaccess the slash at the beginning should be omitted I think. But if that's not the case, I cannot see anything wrong with it at all.

Remove the first forward slash from your regexp and it should work.
