HOW to say, if preg_match_all(1...) OR preg_match_all(2...) then do?

Must each one be done separately as though it was alone or is there an expression that can be used within only one (1) preg_match_all() that combines the two? Is this where the pipe (|) comes in?

What is the syntax? Is it something like:

preg_match_all('...|...', $text, $match)

?

Yes, the "|" is the "branch" operator in preg regexes. If you want to match all occurences of "this" or "that", you could do:

preg_match_all('/th(is|at)/', $text, $match);
