Zipping and unzipping via ssh

Hello, what prompts are need to zip and unzip a file via ssh? if its possible? and i would like to know the same for rar and tar. I know how to untar a file via ssh, but thats the only one. If you know how you zip, rar, tar a file, and unzip and unrar a file, via ssh, please post. Thx

Um, you know that "SSH" stands for "Secure SHell", right? That the command prompt you get is the same one as if you logged in at the machine locally?

yes, but i am not good with ssh so i am asking for the commands to zip/unzip, etc....
