[RESOLVED] Problems with accents =(

Hello everyone.

Currently I have a huge database with Names from people who has accents on their names.

When i retrieve the names from the databse i get weird boxes on IE and strange ? symbols on FF.

What can I do to avoid this from happening :queasy:

You could try running the data through [man]htmlentities/man when you output it. Or perhaps changing/setting the character set to UTF-8?

Yeah, definitely sounds like an encoding problem.

you are storing your text in a different encoding than that you are displaying it. You need to get your data-flow & encoding types sorted out.

You can probably fix it already by setting the encoding of the webpage to the right characterset, such as UTF-8.
