[RESOLVED] Replacing non-existant image with placeholder image

Hi,

Is it possible when an image is not on the server, rather than the page showing the [x] indicating no image, can you replace it with a placeholder image?

In firefox, if it can't fint the image, it displays the alt text... but it IE it shows the [x]. If I could find a way to stop that from happening in IE, I wouldn't require a placeholder image.

You could use the [man]file_exists/man function in an if/else construct.

not too sure if it works as u want, BUT img also supports 'lowsrc' which basically will let u display a lowsource version of the image before/while the full version is being downloaded and displayed... i beleive deviantart does that

might be worth a shot
