Function to convert line breaks to "\n" and etc.

maybe PHP has a function which would convert line breaks to "\n" (and etc.)? It is needed when sending email from web form.

I think he means in a textarea when you skip a line

He wants it to display on multiple lines rather than be clumped in one line.

<?php nl2br($post); ?>

That will turn line breaks from hitting enter/return button on keyboard into "<br/>"
