setting up php to use a local smtp server

hi all

I am using apache on Windows server, with PHP5,

however, since my new ISP 'require authentication' to get to smtp,

I can only setup a local server, (SendMail for windows) to work it,

but what php.ini settings do I need to set to get that working?

well... in php.ini there is a setting for the outgoing SMTP server.. but if you want to be smart use PHPMailer... it has authentication built-in

the setting takes in the smtp server address and and the 'from' argument,

but no bit to differentiate between require auth or not 🙁

does php mailer integrate with vbulletin?

I got the class working and it actually sends email from simple files,

I now only need to replace the vbulletin special class with phpmailer which is ..

well, a bit of a difficult one, I need to read a lot in how they implemented their version first

this has been resolved, and I managed to incorportate phpmailer()

however, the text is coming all in one line with no LF's
