Php in a folder not working.

It seems like I can't use this:

include 'db.php';

$resultg = @mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '$uid' password = md5('$pwd') ORDER by id DESC");

In a folder one step higher than my other php files. It won't even give me an error. 😕 Anyone who can help?

One reason why you might not get an error is because of: @
Get rid of them. All of them. You should code in a way that your queries do not throw unwanted errors, not try to hide the symptoms.

The reason for not executing are two-fold:
- The folder might be outside your webroot
No real solution, but to change your server configuration, I think
- The include file is in a subfolder

Thanks for the quick reply, Leatherback. The two reasons you mentioned above are not causing the problem. I removed the @ aswell but nothing helped there either. This is a login check so if someone has valid username and password the

if ($resultg)

will let a user login

what does the mysql_error() give you?

Is that what is in your database settings?
Or did it not load the db.php fie properly?
