session newb - please help

Hi there,

I've used sessions for the first time recently. Could someone explain this to me.

Say a site has a variable set called $_SESSION['username'] and then another site also has a session variable by the same name, will it be able to access it? I know sessions are given a unique ID for each user, but in my tests it seems that one site is able to access the session variables of another. Do you need to call this UID or something to make it unique to the site?

Hope I'm making sense. Any replies gratefully recieved.

When you say "another site", what do you mean with that?

Edit: I ask this because of what you said of your test. I just want to know how you tested it.

short answer:

no... sessions are site specific and can be made computer specific if you code it correctly

scrap all the cookies and cache for your browser... then login with your sessions and then browse to that other site...

sounds to me like u think you have a problem when in fact u may not
