MySQL Connecting

Hey All,

Wow, I haven't worked in MySQL for some time now... but I guess you never know when it is going to come back into your life!! haha

Here is my problem

I have access to the local machine, but I did not setup the MySQL server so I don't know the login. I really just want to run the MySQL Query Browser

When I try to connect in the Query Browser I get error # 1045. I am not sure if I am even using the right port let alone the user name.

in the WinMySQLadmin windows here are my server setting
Local Host Name: SERVER1
Local User Name: Manager
OS: Whistler
Local IP: server1 / 127.0.0.1

I tried to login using root and Manager on port 3306. Not really sure where to go from here... any suggestions?

Not sure if any of this matters but
-Not on a network
-Running a POS system (so don't want to change or reset anything)
-Windows XP

Best bet would be to look at any script that uses the db and get the connection parameters from there, it is the password that you especially need.

errrrr... can't believe I didn't think of that. I'll check tomorrow to see if I can find the connection setting on the POS software.
