Hi am new to php forums ?

Hi there

I am new to php forums, and have just set my own forum up, and have been having some trouble with it, this may seem like a daft question, but how do you add a smiley ? everytime i try to add a new one, i can't get rid of the other smiley that shows up ?😕

hope someone can help me out, apologies if this is the wrong place to post this 🆒

also can admin read private messages, i may have a mole on my forum, and wish to keep any eye on them 🆒

Meh, that doesn't make that much sense to me... besides. You should really ask problems relating to software from where you got it.

Despite being completely morally out of the question. I would hope any form would not allot this and if people know how to I would hope they don't tell people or use it themselves to spy on people that are being fooled into having something private.

After all, the name says it all private message.

I am not going to say how, but if you are the owner of the forum & the server it is really easy to see the private messages. If you need to ask that, then you really should not be running complex scripts.
But yeah..as dougal said.. It is morally wrong, unless you have them sign some form of waver that you are allowed to do that..

The forum software may or may not allow admin forum accounts to read others' private messages via the forum's interface; but assuming they are stored in the database, it's pretty obvious that all you need is a database login to read them.

I'm not so much as condoning it as pointing out to anyone who is interested that forum private messages are probably not really "private" in most cases, just as your mailbox at work is not "private" from your sysadmins, or your Yahoo/Google/MSN email is not really "private" as long as the messages are on their systems. And for that matter, the NSA may be listening in on any of your email transmissions. 😉

Hm.. I think it is pretty much generally accepted that they ARE listening in.

All I am really interested in.. How many sniffers do they have in Windows Vista!? 😃
