Experienced Only- Link Directory Help

Hello - I am have problems with two of my link directories. The problem I am having is kind of odd. The actual link directory itself works just fine...however, when I goto the admin panel to log in...I cant. It just times out after a minute.

I can put in the wrong password and it will tell me the password was incorrect...if you put the right one in, it just takes you to a blank page. Sometimes after I have been the admin log in page, I can not even get back to it. I will just time out and leave a blank page.

I just need someone trustworthy and experienced because I need to give you a temp password to try and log in to see the problem. Obviously, I will need to email this info to you since I can not post it here. Thank you in advance for any responses.

So does it ever let you in? Is this an intermittent problem? If it's intermittent, it doesn't sound like it's PHP's fault, but rather Apache's fault, or the connection, or something else.

If you'd like to post your code, that would help us look for any coding errors. I'm not sure what information it would provide, but if you'd still like someone else to take a look at it, you can feel free to contact me (PM via the boards, AIM, or e-mail) and I'll see what I can poke around and find out.

how do you take care of authentication and store the login credentials? did you possibly set the cookie expiration accidentally to a minute?

Hey Brad, sent you a message but I am not sure if you got it or not. Hey sid, thanks for the reply! The log in is stored on my server data base and I didnt mess with the cookie exp.

I think you'll have to show us some of the login code... something is hanging it up though PHP isn't timing itself out (max_execution_time). Sounds like we might try putting some die() statements in as a sort of "checkpoint" to see how far along in the script we get.

I really don't know what to say... other than adding die statements to find out where it's failing. Start towards the beginining, e.g. right before it uses GetRow() on line 43 of login.php. If that die statement shows up, move further down the code until it doesn't work.
