[RESOLVED] using gzip_compression()?

Hi,

I have read that Google uses gzip_compression() compression to make their website load faster, has anyone done anything like this on their site?

Googling it only comes up with Wordpress setup info.. nothing about doing it on a normal site. I even downloaded wordpress but couldn't figure out what they are doing..
