Receive email and submit to database

I've seen a blog system where it gives the user a specific email address, and they may send an email to that address, and it inserts it into their blog, the subject becomes the title and the body becomes the blog body. Any idea on how you could have php read an email like that?

well PHP would have to have full control to the mailbox... it would need to check on a regular frequency (cron job or win scheduler)... once new mail arrives it would parse it, add it to the database and then delete it from the inbox (or do something else with it)

first u need to figure out what protocol your mail is... pop/imap/etc

then u need to read up in the php manual on the specific functions related to mail control and accessibility...

once u do that and run into road blocks then u can come back here and tell us what u are struggling with and we can help you a little better
