data lost! am I being hacked? how to trace? help...

I suddenly lost thousands rows of data in one of my tables in MySQL.
It happened at about midnite and I wonder how to trace that?
is there any log file automatically to trace the activity?

or is it other way to tell what exactly happening?
I'm really lost. hope to get help. 🙁

heard about 'ib_logfile' and mysqlbinlog to help to recover.
anyone can shed some light on how to do it?
