[RESOLVED] hyperlink in email

hey, I have a script where I can send an email. However, in the message of the email i want to send a link to a webpage but can't do it cuz i get errors.

I have used <a href </a> but this doesn't work. it just appears as normal text.

$message = "message for the email";
$message .= "antoher message";
$message .= "<a href='testing www.google.co.uk'></a>";

You'll need to set the mime type in the headers to text/html and then make sure the message body is valid HTML. See Example 1052 on the mail() function page.

i tried the following but it still doesn't work

$message = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
$message .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";
$message .= '<html><body><a htef= "http://www.google.co.uk">www.google.co.uk</a></body></html>';

$mails= mail ($to,$subject, $message, "FROM: $from");

Nope, the Mime and content-type stuff has to go in the additional headers parameter, not the message body parameter:

$headers  = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";
$headers .= "From: $from";

$message = '<html><body><a href= "http://www.google.co.uk">www.google.co.uk</a></body></html>';

$mails = mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);

no it still doesn't work, i get the hyperlink as text no link. i have used your solution as well

hiiya can someone inform me why i cannot get the hyperlink to work when i have aslo used the header as html. Where am i going wrong?

if it still comes out as a text link then try this

$headers  = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\n";
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\n";
$headers .= "From: $from\n";

$message = '<html><body><a href= "http://www.google.co.uk">www.google.co.uk</a></body></html>';

$mails = mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);

Note: If messages are not received, try using a LF (\n) only. Some poor quality Unix mail transfer agents replace LF by CRLF automatically (which leads to doubling CR if CRLF is used). This should be a last resort, as it does not comply with » RFC 2822.
