Is there a way to do a remote include on another server?

I have 2 servers and in this code, I have to put the directory but its on the other server:

$curdir = getcwd ();
chdir('/path/to/your/forums');
require_once('/path/to/your/forums/global.php');
chdir ($curdir);
?>

so if I have this on server 1 and that global.php file is on server 2 how can I include this from the other server?

The simple answer is that you can't do it.

The slightly more advanced answer is that by using [man]file_get_contents[/man] you can get the evaluated result from the other file. But you can't use functions, variables or other stuff, not even global ones.

The advanced answer is that by compromizing the security of your servers you can do this (at least if I understaood a thread from about 2 weeks ago correctly). But it is not a good idea at all.

The best idea would probably be to have global.php on both servers if possible.

Well that sucks!

I have 2 servers, one is with a high traffic forum and the other server I want members to use their forum account on and display their account information. I got a way to do remote mysql access so I might play with that is the only other thing I can think of.

That would defenetley be a better way to handle it. But with two servers you probably would want a separate database server, then it will be much easier to handle these kind of things.
