Is there anyone that knows any free hosting with PHP?

Also, if we use Yahoo webservice, we're limited by 5000 query per IP.

Is there a way to work "around" that feature.

I doubt it. But is that 5000 in total? Or per day? Cos 5000 queries is quite a lot.

How do Yahoo knows our IP anyway?

It's okay. I can use cache which is not against the rule. However, I am just curious, how do Yahoo knows the IP? Does it know because the client send the IP to Yahoo? Or is there a 3rd party in internet that automatically gives IP?

Whenever you access any computer on the internet it will pass on your IP. It's just standard TCP/IP

What you are asking to do is THEFT. Just because you can't put your hands on it does not mean that you are not STEALING it. So go away.

I wouldn't really call it theft. I'd call it stupidity. Anyone who knows even the most basic thing about computers will know that it's not possible to hide your IP, and it's very difficult (and possibly illegal) to look to proxies to keep changing it, and chances are that Yahoo would get wise to it.

Ah, but somehow I doubt a diminished capacity plea would fly. Ignorance of course isn't a valid defence; it's spelled out in Yahoo!'s terms of use that you agree not to try to work around whatever usage restrictions they've put in place (as if people would need to be told that Yahoo! wouldn't like such attempts. Well, maybe some do).

It's still not "stealing" as such. It's just abusing T&Cs, which isn't illegal, but the provider (in this case Yahoo) may take a hard line against them.

Well now, that depends on the laws where you live. Here in the UK people have been arrested for 'theft of electronic services' just for piggy-backing someone's unprotected wifi broadband. I am sure that Yahoo will let you use more then the limit for a fee, so avoiding or bypassing their TOS constitutes theft here in the UK.

What kind of big site have only 5000 visitors per day.

I am thinking more in the line of that you can't serve the same visitors 5000 time. I think Yahoo wanted the limit to get arounded somehow.

Just my gut feeling.

Anyway, I don't use Yahoo anymore. There are easier way.

TBH, as Roger said, you can probably get more queries if you pay them. If you're having more than 5000 visitors a day, chances are you can probably afford to pay that fee so it shouldn't matter.
