[RESOLVED] Presenting POST data into a link!

I have a page that successfully takes POST data and present it onto a PHP page as such:

http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?/u=<?php echo $_POST['keyword']; ?

But unsure how to get that same data to appear as a link??

I though the code below would work, but it doesn't .. any ideas?

echo " <a href='http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?/u=?$keyword'></a> ";
?>

I don't recommend to use any data from the user without cleaning it from bad code. You can use [man]htmlentities[/man] to do this when it should be used in html.

It is not any different to use a POST value than to use another [man]array[/man] in a [man]string[/man]. But easiest is probably to first clean the variable and put the cleaned variable in another variable that you use in the string. Something like below (untested):

$key = htmlentities($_POST['key']);
echo " <a href='http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?/u=?$key'>The name of the link</a> ";

Thanks for the advice, it's brilliant ... the only problem is that the link doesn't forward the user input ... it just comes out as:

http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?/u=?

Any ideas?

I think that I have misunderstood what you want to do. Can you please post more of the code to avoid me trying to answer something you didn't ask.

I think your spot on in the direction you are taking me, the only thing I need to do now is get the full URL generated as a link.

So if the user types "cinema" as a keyword, the user sees the full URL in words (which is what you got working for me) and also the full URL as a link with the words "Click Here to see your results" or something similar under the actual URL.

So, they type in "cinema" and on the next page they see.

my domain.com/search.php?/u=?cinema
Click Here to see your results

Hope thats clearer?
It's just that final part that I can't get to work, where the full search string is embedded into the link.

Ok, it seems it is just a character that should be removed. GET values is used this way:

http://www.something.com/index.php?id=2&cat=5

So you probably want it like this:

Thats it, but I can't get it to work, I've tried:

<a href='http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?u='keyword'>
and even in desperation, I tried ...
<a href='http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?/u=<?php echo $_POST['keyword']; ?>>

But nothing is working :-(

Let me color code it and you will notice the error:

http://rc-for-less.110mb.com/search.php?/u=<?php echo $POST['keyword']; ?><br>

And I didn't post about htmlentities to be used only on certain places. It should be used everywhere.
