hi
Zend Framework
will of course be interesting ... will it be Freeware? is the question
Anyway, it is a gigantic collection of PHP Code.
I downloaded and unzipped ZendFramework-0.9.3-Beta
Released only 4 days ago. ( 2007-05-06 )
Was zipped up to 82.1MB!!!
PHP Frameworks I have downloaded and keep my eyes on:
- CakePHP
- MODx CMS (sorta CMS + PHP Framework)
- PRADO PHP Framework
- Seagull PHP Framework
- Solar Framework
- Symfony
- Yellow Duck Framework
- Zend Framework
- Zoop Framework (ajax)
My halojoy Comment:
YDF, Yellow Duck Framework and Seagull are very popular ones.
I have often seen websites powered by those two.
CakePHP is very often mentioned and so also Symfony.
Several (most of them!) On My List are still in heavy, early development
and today is hard to say who will be the ruler, the winner.
No doubt Zend Framework will be the one for serious php workers
and maybe set some kind of inoffcial standard for PHP frameworks.
But can seriouly NOT think it will stay freeware very long.
Zend are 'moneymakers, as seen in the history of other Zend Works.
