Integrating login of Webmail and member's page

Hello!

I would like to integrate webmail and member's page of my website. I would like to use single login for webmail and member's Page. For that, I m thinking to made a code, which will check the login info from the webmail(squirrelmail) and then redirect the user to member,s page.. But, I dont know how to check whether the login info is correct or not.. (i m using a shared hosting account and webmail is installed by the hosting company)..
Can anybody tell me how to do that...

Besides this, is there any way, to allow the access to directory through a particular page only..(that means directory will be accessed by on a particular page, not by direct links)

It is highly doubtful that your hosting company will give you access to the SQL u/p or give your login authority to read webmail clients, just for security reasons alone.

For you to share a login, you would need to implement all login procedures that squirrelmail does, weather they use sessions, cookies, or whatever.

You would also have to gain access to their user database, I would contact your hosting company to see what information they can provide you, although, I doubt it will be much.

You will be unable to restrict access to a directory "by a page", you can restrict access with .htaccess if your service provider allows and parses these.

If you are attempting to restrict content, I would recommend a login/password system.

If you wish to restrict files only, this can be done, if this is the case I can post you some code that will help.

Could you tell me the code, to restrict access via. htaccass.

I know many codes for restricting the content(login/passwords scripts) but the problem is, that i dont want to login again..for webmail...
Currenly, I m using .htpasswd to store passwords..
