[RESOLVED] Repeating the same character

Guys,

say $a='b';

Say I want $b = $a repeated 5 times.

How do I do that without a for next loop? Is there a command for that?

It does not make sense to repeat the same assignment, since the subsequent assignments will have no net effect. Are you trying to repeat the character in a string or an array? If so, use [man]str_repeat/man for a string and [man]array_fill/man for an array.

Nevermind - str_repeat() is a better solution that what I was thinking of.

I think str_repeat() makes more sense than str_pad() for this case, but either way the OP is satisfied with the answer so this thread should be marked as resolved 🙂
