dotproject + another simple system - project management?

I have been checking some project management tools, the dotproject is the one we are going to stick with for our office internal project management works. But we need a tool to communicate with our clients. dotproject is not designed for that purpose.

Just to inform the clients the progress of the projects once a while, let them send requests, upload necessary documents etc.

If you are using dotproejct for project management, IN ADDITION, what simple tool you use to communicate with your clients about their project/requests etc. I don't need another complicated project management tool to do the internal project management works which dotproject is working very well.

In simple words, I want to use a very simple communication tool for me to communciate with my clients in addtion to use the dotproject to manage project internally.

you certainly can setup dotP for client viewing only, all you do is set them up as users and only give them "view" access for the sections you want them to see, which i'm assuming would be projects and tasks
