[RESOLVED] how to parse login information to other page

Hi,

I am just trying to write few web pages in php to manage certain things with mysql.
At the moment I've written everything to check the username and password on the first page.

But i've included this bit of code-

to load the other page if the login is correct.

I thought the session variables are kept so I put the username and password in to $SESSION['username'] and $SESSION['password'], but these values do not get parsed to main.php.

I think I've made myself clear on what I want to achieve(hopefully😃)

Instead of doing that, consider using [man]header[/man] to redirect the browser to the appropriate location.

header('Location:....');
session_write_close();
exit;

Needless to say, the page you're directing to needs to call session_start() if it's to see any session variables.

There is a slight problem with header();

Since I use require, I cannot use header in the middle of the code.

I just tried with session_start(), with same directing page method, and obviously it doesn't work.

Am I meant to have a separate file for redirecting?

I know these questions sound very noobish, but I am trying to learn so please bear with me.

AAAAaaa, I forgot to start session on the page which actual does directing job.
Silly me.
