table data duplicate

hi, i've got a page where user can view all customer data through this function ViewCustomer(). it happens when page onload. however, in the same page itself, i've gt another button 'display all customer' and 'sort by gender' button '...the 'display all customer' button will also call function ViewCustomer(). so the problem is if after onload, i click the button 'display all customer', it will call the viewCustomer() again causing a duplicated record. how do i prevent that?

You could try having hidden fields that have their value changed by the buttons with javascript, and have the form submit to itself. Then when the page reloads, PHP will check the value of the hidden fields, and you can display/sort results accordingly.

erm i don't wish to use javascript..well some user may not activate javascript on their browser.. tks for the info anw 🙂

Sorry, when you said it happens on Onload it threw me off.

So you have the following structure:

On page load, only one customer's data is displayed.
On button "View All Customers" click, all customer information is displayed.
On button "Sort by Gender" click, all customer information is displayed sorted by gender.

Correct?

Please post more of the code if you can.

oh scriptmaker, sorry for the confusion

on page load, view all customer by default
onbutton "sort by gender" click, all customer info sort by gender
onbutton "view all customer" click, all customer info is displayed and sort by gender is removed.

so if user go to page, he will see all customer data by default.. however if he choose to click view all customer button, data would be duplicated.

So all customer data is shown initially and you do not want the data to be duplicated. You can either have PHP add DISABLED to the button's html code on pageload, or you can put the code for the onload inside of an

if (isset($getBtnViewAll) == "false") {}

statement.
