[RESOLVED] Grouping data with PHP

This is hard for me to explain, but here it goes.

I have 2 javascript calendars for me to perform a date range search in a few tables. Nothing serious.

Now, I want to try something new. If I choose between these dates:

$startdate = '2007-05-29' AND $enddate = '2007-06-02'

then I can query pretty much what I need. But I want to post each day in a list, with their respective transaction numbers. For example:

Desired Output:

DATES:----------------------------SALES:
1. 2007-05-29---------------------54
2. 2007-05-30---------------------48
3. 2007-05-31---------------------62
4. 2007-06-01---------------------77

So, I'm looking to perform a daily summary, rather than a combined summary.
I thought that is what grouping is, but as I search online I think I am confusing it with something else.

Am I making sense?

SELECT dates, count(id) as sales
FROM table
WHERE dates BETWEEN '2007-05-29' AND '2007-06-02'
GROUP BY dates
ORDER BY dates
