How do I find the last 4 characters in a varchar field in a mysql table ?

I need to find all the posts where a varchar field do not end with .com

You could use LIKE with the % wildcard:

SELECT fld1, fld2 FROM table1 WHERE LOWER(fld2) NOT LIKE '%.com'
