resizing digital photo by php

hello for all

I am devloping new digital photo website and you can upload digital photo on it and be shown on the website, but as you know the digital photo size be more than 1 mb for every photo and width and height be more than 2000 pixel.

can i resize the photo by php code and change the width and height for every photo ?

yes you can - there are multiple ready made scripts.
for the file-size you can use [man]filesize/man - also the $_FILES array gives you plenty of info (see Chapter 38. Handling file uploads for more info - the comments even include the complete code to resize files as well).
another useful function for such scripts is [man]getimagesize/man
