As i have mentioned in my Newbie post i am teaching, well trying to, myself php and mysql to make database driven sites oviously, this will also help when using php inside flash etc etc etc you know hat i mean.
well my latest project i have set my self is to jump in at what would say the middle of the pool as im to scared to jump in at the deep end lol
here is what im planning to create, a website which has a database driven list of available jobs, these jobs will all be shown in a list under a category/department, for example, IT Department......... It manager, Data entery etc etc etc
from the list of jobs users/jo public can click more details button and see more info on the job, ie location, salary etc and also have an apply online button that take them to a contact form appliction form that they fill in and this is then saved to the database.
an admin section will be required for the site
Front End
on the front end/public there will be a catoary list which will be driven by the database from the department section of the database. these links will only show if a job is actally added to that catogary, so if there no it jobs there will be no it button, these will then go to a page with the same wrapper of the catgaries of all the jobs for that section. Also a view all button
Admin Section
within this section there will be the option to add a new department, add new job listing with all the relevant information, edit submitted jobs, delete jobs and search throught the submitted application forms.
application forms will need the be downloadable for records.
the site will be styled using CSS as i know what im doing there.
do you think this a good project to set myself?? i think this will be a good start as its not quite an ecommerse site (which i would say is the deep end) but gives a good start and pointing me the the right direction. What do you all think?? you think the site will need any other options??
