[RESOLVED] email in php, host changed setting, things are now messed up

Ok problem is as follows

im happily running my php receivemail class and joyfully reading emails with it.
then happy host decides to make change to the server without informing me, crashing my application.
anyhow, i will need to switch host, but still need this problem fixed asap.

does anyone understand the following.
code:

$obj= new receiveMail('coupon+top-download.net','passwordhere','[e-mail]','localhost','pop3','110');

//

using the php receivemail class

now gives the error:
Warning: imap_open() [function.imap-open]: Couldn't open stream {localhost:110/pop3}INBOX in /home/topdown/public_html/drukker/receivemail.class.php on line 40

problem is that i do not have knowledge about the inner workings of the class and i feel very unsure what the problem actually is.
host sais the following

The mail storage method (maildir) was upgraded recently as the older mbox formats are no longer supported by the webmail, control panel, and in order to secure exim from being exploited a new version was installed.

I think all you need to do is switch to using the modern mail structures of po3/courier-imap rather than "INBOX" which as an old neomail function (neomail has not been supported for some time as it is no longer developed or fixed)

after some error fetching i found this:

Array ( [0] => Certificate failure for localhost: self signed certificate: /C=US/ST=NY/L=New York/O=Courier Mail Server/OU=Automatically-generated POP3 SSL key/CN=localhost/emailAddress=[e-mail] )

hope someone understands this 🙂

ok question, are you using the same class?

anyhow.
i changed from using pop3 settings
{mail.top-download.net/pop3:110}INBOX
to
{mail.top-download.net/tls/novalidate-cert:143}INBOX
by removing pop3 you use imap, then apply tls and novalidate-cert and you are fine (be sure to change 110 to 143 also)

thx for the reply, I managed to fix it though, had to change it to:
{mail.server.com:143/imap/notls}INBOX
