i need to open a file using php?

I need to execute the local c drive files using php.. I mean to say if we are having one exe file in local drive but i need to execute it using PHP which is running in IIS of other mechine...

No i cant run the local c drive files using exec().. And one more thing is i have to run .exe files of local drive, server may be in another system... this is my problem..

im not quite sure i understand what you are exactly tying to do. if php is running on another server, there is no way it can access local files, unless you build some kind of interface to tap into the local machine.

ok i will say you clearly. i have two system. But i have installed IIS in one system , from that system's IIS i am going to execute my php programs, i can execute my all php programs like this way.

Only thing is i want to execute my system local .exe files from the php code which is running in another systems IIS..

Are u got me?

If the file is on a network share, and the share is accessible by the server's IUSR_ComputerName account (or whatever account you set IIS to run under), then PHP can access the network share with a UNC path.
