I need this search to just find whole words in a cell, not somewhere in the word. How can I accompolish this.

I am using this:

SELECT *  FROM `ARROWBPGRECOMMEND` WHERE `CUSTOMERNAME` LIKE  '%FORD%'

And I keep getting these:

INVER GROVE FORD
SANDFORD, SHELLE
PETTIFORD,DAVID
WING,CLIFFORD BRETT

All I want to get is the ones where FORD is a whole word like "INVER GROVE FORD" Not the rest of them.

take out the % at the start and end. they are wild cards.

Nope, taking out the % on both ends will not work. That's equivalent of the equal sign. You need to use regular expression:

WHERE CUSTOMERNAME REGEXP '(^| )FORD( |$)'
